![]() ![]() As is, I will not be using this holster, and can't recommend it to anyone with a 43X SF XSC setup it's not reliable at all. These two minor issues can easily, and cost-effectively, be resolved by Blackhawk the main issue will definitely require a redesign (and hopefully it will be one that doesn't make the holster "semi-universal" to these firearm/weapon light combinations). Also, that the flexible piece of plastic (polymer) connecting the holster and the mag-carrier be replaced with one made of thick rubber (like the bushings) so as to prevent the inevitable creasing and possible tearing at the attachment points. Relative to this issue, my other complaints regarding the holster's design are extremely minor, lol, and I did suggest to Blackhawk to replace the Chicago screw backs with slotted ones (so that they may be easier held in place when installing/adjusting/removing them. IT LOCKS IT IN AND CANNOT BE DRAWN! This issue can somewhat be mitigated by the largest sized wing/claw attachment, and by how low one sets the belt clip, but then that introduces an uncomfortable and/or awkward fit of the holster, well as keeping the likelihood of the same issue to still occur depending on your body positioning when attempting to draw the weapon this is obviously dangerous and simply unacceptable. actually, THE only issue that really matters because this design creates somewhat of a "sandwhich" style to the holster, and since it this is the area upon which the wearer's waistband (and belt) crosses, even a comfortably snug fit (to help keep the rig close to the body and prevent printing) is enough to flex the thin plastic inward onto the firearm. Therein, I believe, lies the biggest issue. Speaking of this "semi-universal" design, it is also designed to be ambidextrous, and as such it has a high "sweatguard" wall on both sides (upon which the belt clip may be attached). ![]() Moreover, this "semi-universal" design makes the holster that much taller for the 43X, which means that much more of unnecessary discomfort when carrying appendix considering that part of its selling point is that there's no extra material between the holster and the mag-carrier extension (which in fact is a good thing about this holster), an extra 1 1/2 inches to the height of the holster (for the 43X) is counterintuitive. IDK, I'm not a mechanical engineer/designer, lol, I'm just pointing out how and where it sits. The holster was designed to fit either the 43X/43X MOS or 48 with either the SL TLR-7 Sub or the SF XSC (Heck, I think this model may even accommodate the Hellcat), and as such the shorter/smaller framed 43X settles about 1 1/4 inch short of the bottom of the holster this may be what causes the retention points on the XSC, relative to the bushinged adjustment screw, to not have the intended level of contact. Having said that: As is, with the 43X MOS w/the SF XSC, the gun fits very loosely inside of the holster regardless of how much the retention is adjusted there's too much wiggle-room. Thirdly, I understand that the Stache is a new product and Blackhawk is expecting feedback from users in the field, therefore I have reached out to them in an attempt to make them aware of the primary issue and provide some design suggestions for a revised version customer service was very receptive and accommodating over the phone, and I've provided a detailed email directly to their design team hopefully we'll hear back from them in short order. Secondly, I am pointing out issues that I encountered specifically with the light-bearing "premium kit" version of this holster, and cannot claim that these issues are present in the "standard" versions of the Stache. I've been a long-time user of Blackhawk products during both military and LE service, and generally am satisfied with my purchases. (Read below for more)įirstly, I genuinely tried liking this holster, and believe that with a few tweaks it can definitely be one of the most comfortable, yet affordable, solutions to AIWB for the Glock 43X/MOS/48. Even so, when adjusted just to the point where the gun doesn't fall out, when worn and cinched down by your belt/waistband, the holster flexes inward to an extent which causes the weapon to get locked in and cannot be drawn. TLDR part: The 43X MOS w/the SF XSC is a very loose fit regardless of how much you adjust the retention.
